Gynecologic surgery

Should you need gynecologic surgery, Novant Health Triad Obstetrics & Gynecology is here for you. Lewis Lipscomb, MD, offers both traditional and minimally invasive surgery options. He regularly performs medically-necessary hysterectomy surgery, myomectomies, excision of endometriosis and other gynecologic surgeries. These procedures are performed in the state-of-the-art surgery facilities in the Maya Angelou Center for Women's Health and Wellness at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center.

Dr. Lipscomb is certified in da Vinci robotic surgery. He has extensive training on and experience with this robot-assisted minimally invasive surgery system. Dr. Lipscomb also performs laparoscopic surgeries including single-incision laparoscopic surgery (SILS). Minimally invasive surgery often means a shorter recovery and a lower risk of infection as compared to traditional surgery. If you need surgery, both traditional and minimally invasive surgery options, if possible, will be discussed with you.

Please note: Dr. Lipscomb does not perform sterilization procedures (i.e. tubal ligation or other permanent birth control procedures.
